Summary

This hands-on course incorporates both theoretical and scenario-based curricula and is typically delivered over two days. With our top of the line winter gear and our well seasoned guides your experience is guaranteed to be a wilder one. This course involves an overnight stay in the backcountry where clients may choose to sleep in their primitive shelters. AWE will provide expedition quality tents to all participants should they wish to choose this option.

  • Basic water safety (river crossing, boating, etc)

3. Emergency Wilderness First Aid

  • Scene Assessment
  • Activating EMS
  • Patient assessment
  • Treatment of life-threatening emergencies
  • Recognizing and treating hypothermia and frostbite
